Monologue Coaching Episode #3

In this episode Amy is letting her moment-to-moment cerebral activity become a part of the monologue. Often this naturally occurring mental action gets shut down as an actor grinds his or her way through the words. They literally look as if they are thinking very slowly or not at all. The net effect is that the actor seems somewhat less than human.

By the way, allowing the cerebral activity to be a significant part of what you are experiencing is extremely important when you’re are working on camera. If you’re negating the cerebral, there will be an unnatural emptiness to your performance.
