In her first run in this episode Amy is freer in letting the
words arrive from her moment-to-moment experiencing. As a result what she’s
saying seems like real “talk” as opposed to spoken “lines”. The feel is more
spontaneous, more immediate.
Her current level of performance allows me to bring in
directions that ideally will impact character. Both directions are general in
nature having to do with mental/emotional states. I caution Amy to let the
directions work as a stimulus to what she’s experiencing rather than feeling
that she has to “portray” or “show” the direction.
