The first run in this episode has a slightly different
quality then the last run in episode 8. The difference is good. These shifting
nuances expand the range of the work. Often actors will disrupt this process by
over editing their work in an effort to “keep the good stuff”. In doing so they
actually shut down the ongoing development of the monologue.
The second run was taped two days after the first run. It’s
always interesting to see how the work weathers the hiatus. In this case much
of what we accomplished in the first two-hour session is still alive and well
in Amy’s work.
