Watching Amy’s
back on screen may seem a bit strange but you can still get a feel for how her
contact with the viewer (me) has changed. This “back to the viewer” set up
actually causes her to contact me on a level that is much deeper than she would
if she were looking directly at me.
In her second run Amy is able to keep that deeper level of contact,
which in turn opens the range of her experiencing. Her performance becomes more
spontaneous and new qualities come into her portrayal of Etta.
